As Common Ground Farm enters its 25th year, we’re reflecting on what health truly means. It's more than diet and exercise—and healthy food is more than a side of broccoli on a plate. True health is felt, shared, and built together. It is a many-layered fabric woven from love, meaning, connection, and gratitude.

Our work focuses on strengthening every part of a healthy local food system:

  • Growing a resilient local economy by supporting the growers, makers, and bakers at our farmers’ markets
  • Fostering hands-on education where kids learn by doing, taste fresh food, and build a relationship with the land
  • Uplifting young farmers facing the challenges of climate uncertainty
  • Nourishing food-insecure families, including 73 children in our BackPack Program

Every fiber of this work is possible because of our generous and committed supporters. Your generosity helps us bring health, connection, and opportunity to so many lives.

The threads of impact–made possible with your support–are woven throughout our community. A U-Pick participant put it this way:

“In addition to the delicious and nutritious veggies and fruit, visiting the farm to pick has meant a relationship to the local land in a way that I would not otherwise be able to experience. It's one thing to see lovely produce at the store or farmers’ market, and something deeper and richer to put hands in the soil, to see and smell and hear everything. Thank you! THANK YOU!”

A teacher who participates in our Farm to School programming shared:

“I have found the Chef in the Classroom program to be absolutely incredible. Students are more likely to try new things when they get to prepare the foods themselves. Kindergarten through grade five students often aren't given the opportunity to be hands-on in the kitchen so bringing this to school is important. The staff who join us are always so punctual, patient, informative, and empathetic. They have shown a genuine love of children and demonstrate the value of teaching children to eat healthily.”

And a SNAP recipient impacted by the government shutdown reflected:

“This is such an incredible thing you’re doing. It’s easy to feel forgotten when times get tough, but what the market and community have done during the shutdown—making sure people can still put fresh food on the table—it’s a reminder that we’re not alone. You’ve turned compassion into action, and that means everything.”

We deeply believe that our community can grow towards true health–where resiliency, relationship-building, and community care are as essential as a well-balanced meal. As we enter this milestone year, we invite you to help us raise $30,000 to ensure our programs continue to flourish.

All donors who give $250 or more will receive a special-edition market tote as an expression of our gratitude.

Thank You For Growing With Us: Your support helps cultivate a community rooted in health, connection, and care. Whether you’re giving for the first time or the 25th, we’re deeply grateful to have you as part of the Common Ground Farm community. If you’re able, please give by December 31 to help launch our 25th year with shared purpose and strength.

From all of us on the Common Ground team, we thank you supporting our work.
