We are resilient because of you

These are challenging days. The future of our world and our humanity feels so uncertain. Nonprofits are vulnerable, as relied-upon funding sources evaporate and the people who we serve need our support even more. Despite all this, we continue to be so inspired by our community of friends, farmers, small businesses, families, and donors. We believe that our way through these times is in growing community, supporting each other, and finding togetherness. We are resilient because of you.

We cultivate community in many ways: through our U-Pick CSA, where members join us throughout the summer to pick the freshest veggies straight from our fields; at Farm Camp, where children become friends while harvesting garlic and cooking veggies over the fire; at our markets, where locals get to know their farmers while purchasing seasonal goods each week, and at our community events such as Opening of the Fields, where friends bless our fields at the start of the growing season.

We support our friends and neighbors through our food access and education work: we feed 65 of the most vulnerable children in the Beacon school district through our BackPack program, providing fresh fruits and vegetables each week; we connect thousands of children to local food and agriculture through our Farm to School programming; and we donate fresh produce to local food access partners every week throughout our growing season.

This year, we are developing a new program called the Hudson Valley Farmers’ Market Academy, a series of workshops designed to provide professional development support to market vendors. This program inspires and helps small business owners while cultivating community through idea sharing and mutual support. These workshops have already created new connections among small farmers and local makers while strengthening our local economy.
